In 1914, the first vacuum melting furnace laid the foundation for today's VACUUMSCHMELZE (VAC). Then in 1923, melting alloys in a vacuum went into production on an industrial scale. This initial operation was located in Hanau, Germany and later grew into a company that operates on a worldwide basis:

- with 4.300 employees
- in more than 50 countries
- with annual sales of about approx. 380 million Euro

Today, VACUUMSCHMELZE (VAC)’s range of products comprises a broad array of advanced semi-finished materials and parts, inductive components for the electronics, magnets and magnet assemblies for use in a wide variety of fields and industries spanning watch-making and medical technology, renewable energies, shipbuilding, automotive and aviation.
