TE Connectivity's (TE) American Sensor Technologies (AST) sensors are specially designed for high performance, harsh and extreme environments. This product line includes position and pressure sensors, transducers and related instrumentation to monitor pressure, differential pressure and liquid level. First introduced in 1997, the AST product line is known for its proprietary Krystal Bond technology and includes Macro LVDT position sensors and signal conditioners.

In June 2005, TE’s American Sensor Technologies （AST）acquired the Macro Sensors product line in order to complement its pressure products with a full line of linear position sensors. Macro Sensors products include LVDT and RVDT position sensors. Markets supported include power generation, oil and gas, automation, industrial equipment, aerospace, UHV and more.

Through the acquisitions of American Sensor Technologies and Macro Sensors, TE Connectivity (TE) offers an extensive range of pressure and position sensors and transducers for ordinary and hazardous locations.
